Choosing the correct antivirus software can be difficult. There are multiple factors Emma should take into account when choosing the correct antivirus software for her new computer. She should first research a few different companies before deciding. The top two factors Emma should consider are compatibility and comprehensive protection. Antivirus software must be compatible with her computer’s operating system and other programs to be effective in stopping or detecting viruses. Incompatible programs can create vulnerabilities in a computer and leave them open for attack. Emma’s antivirus software needs to be comprehensive. The software should not only detect any malware but also protect her computer from it. The antivirus program needs to offer continuous around-the-clock protection to all programs that can be susceptible to malware. When looking to purchase antivirus software, Emma should go directly to the source. She should purchase directly from the manufacturer’s website or visit a computer store to purchase a hard copy of the software. Visiting third-party websites to download antivirus software can allow unwanted malware to be downloaded to her computer. Malicious will attach a virus or other malware to these programs hoping that they will be installed when the antivirus software is downloaded.
